An international automotive supplier specialising in vehicle components with integrated LED technology is seeking an experienced freelance expert (m/f/d) in the field of automotive LEDs to support the industrialisation of a new product line (radiator grilles with integrated LED elements).

YOUR CHALLENGE

• Technical management and consultancy during the industrialisation of components with integrated LED elements (mechanical/electrical/optical interfaces)
• Translating development and design specifications into robust, mass-production-ready manufacturing and assembly processes, including process flow, work instructions and parameterisation
• Evaluating and optimising LED assemblies in terms of manufacturability (DFM/DFA), quality, cycle time and costs (should-cost approaches)
• Definition, coordination and validation of production and testing processes (e.g. EoL tests, in-process inspections, optical/electrical functional tests)
• Close collaboration with development, quality and production during the start-up phase, including support with line set-up, pilot runs and ramp-up
• Analysis and sustainable resolution of technical issues in the field of LED integration (e.g. failure patterns, soldering/contact problems, thermal effects, sealing/EMC interfaces)
• Conducting and facilitating relevant quality and approval activities such as PFMEA/DFMEA input, control plans, PPAP/PPF and capability reviews
• Preparation/review of technical documentation, test specifications and acceptance criteria, including traceability requirements
• Ensuring compliance with automotive quality and reliability requirements (including the IATF framework and customer-specific standards)
• Acting as the technical liaison with suppliers of LED components and electronics/assembly partners (claims management, 8D support, maturity level tracking)

YOUR SKILLS

• Must-have: Several years’ experience in automotive LED technology (LED modules, driver/electronics integration, optical requirements)
• Must-have: Demonstrable experience in industrialisation, production start-ups and the ramp-up of new products in the automotive sector
• Must-have: Very good command of French and/or English in a technical project context
• In-depth expertise in the development and manufacture of electronic assemblies/LED assemblies (e.g. contacting, soldering/assembly processes, thermal management)
• Practical experience with quality methods and deliverables such as FMEA (DFMEA/PFMEA), PPAP/PPF, control plans and test planning
• Knowledge of relevant automotive standards and quality management systems (e.g. IATF 16949, basic understanding of APQP)
• Proficiency in collaborating with suppliers and within cross-functional teams (Engineering, Quality, Production, Procurement)
• Analytical, solution-oriented approach to work (Root Cause Analysis, DoE/parameter optimisation an advantage)
• A hands-on approach, strong ability to deliver results and willingness to travel for coordination and pilot projects
• Desirable: Experience with optical inspection methods for LED components (e.g. camera/AOI inspection, light distribution/colour measurement)
